Well, I haven't talked very much on this but I will be finishing college and getting my degree this week. I have been going to school now for two years pursuing my Associates in Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. If you don't know what a paralegal is, we are lawyer assistants. Anything that the lawyer needs I can help with! I help with filing documents and looking up important cases needed to build our case for a client.
I had an internship as a required course this Summer. I loved it so much! The lawyer that I was with was great, yes there were some testy moments, but for the most part amazing. I never thought I would be in the law field unless I went straight to a lawyer, because any of my family says I can argue the horns off a billy goat. I am not entirely sure if I plan on staying in this field or moving on to something else. When I started college right out of high school I was going for my L.V.T. to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician. BIG change of career right? I am still deciding, but am pretty sure I will be going back to college in Spring for my L.V.T. I have always had a love and a passion for helping animals and it was a very hard decision to switch to a different career. Also it would never be a bad thing to have 2 degrees, or more.

This Summer has been a pretty miserable one in our household. For the beginning part we had a really bad A.C. which meant our house was generally 90-100°F during the day, and the night wasn't much better. My oldest step son, Zeek, lives with us Full-time now as of January. That's another story for another day. Being he is the only kid in the house he gets bored pretty quickly for a 10 year old. Most days he spends bouncing from Xbox to tablet to Netflix and repeat. A few weekends ago a family member gave us an old laptop that David, husband, was able to get working for him. This has turned out to be a big irritation in my eyes..
First thing in the morning till just minutes before bed he thinks he needs to be on this infernal contraption. Either playing Minecraft, Terraria, Pokemon or whatever he is into that day. I hate it.. I realize it's too hot for us to go outside and play, and it's pretty much to hot to even bother going to a local pool. So I deal with this all day "couch potato" that if you ask to do anything that takes him away from the game gets an attitude. Yesterday was my final last straw with this Laptop. He was pulling up something on the Xbox and it showed that his subscription to Xbox Live Gold would expire on 8/21/2016 and he got all upset that it was out. So I looked over and said no it's not what are you talking about? He said it expired today, again I asked what he was talking about and asked him what day that was. After several seconds of staring at it he said March...I looked at him like I had just seen his head spin around and asked one more time what date it showed. Again he answered October...I had a total come apart... I asked him what month was the 8th in the list of months and he said October again. So, thinking he is having amnesia or a stroke or something for this absolute insane answer that a soon to be 5TH GRADER was giving me, I told him to name off the months of the year...Well apparently something changed in the last 2016 years and the year begins with June. Yet again I had a come apart and looked at him like he was pulling my leg. He had a sudden look of terror like "this woman has gone crazy. So I yet again asked him to name off the months of the year and if he said October, May, June, November, September, October, or whatever else he had just claimed was the beginning of the year I was going to flip. Well....out pops July...I then asked him how in the heck he gets July Ahhh, Yoo-hoo. Every kid in the South has grown up with this amazing chocolate drink. After bailing hay or a day by the pool nothing is better than relaxing with a nice cold Yoo-hoo. Some people will argue that Yoo-hoo is for kids, and I say NO! It may start out as a childhood favorite, but it grows with you as you get older. One of my kids and my favorite drinks when we are going somewhere is a yoo-hoo and Beef jerky. It's not quite as heavy on your stomach as a regular chocolate milk and is definitely better in the Summer since it's not milk based. If you have never had a Yoo-hoo you are missing out on one of the greatest things in the world! I think this calls for a store trip to get one, all this blogging has me thirsty!
... And it was at that moment she realized nobody really cares. The phone calls, the conversations never really matter. She was pushing against an unmovable force that could never be broken. The only thing that seems to break is her spirit. As the phone call ends, or a back is turned after the talk she is forgotten. With every sigh she breaks a little more, with every breath she hurts a little more. Until someday she will be nothing more than a shell of what was once. ~By: Jessica Vice
Well it is now 1:30 a.m. in good ol' Alabama. For those of you who have no idea who I am , my name is Jessica Vice. I'm a wife to the best husband ever(David), a step mom to two amazing crazy boys, mom to one fur baby (Camo) and now aspiring blogist.
I just had a great idea to start blogging my crazy daily life. I DIY, cook, create, and a multitude of other crazy things, so why not blog it! I plan on getting my YouTube channel up and going in the next few weeks so you can follow me around and see what I am doing instead of just reading. I will be finishing up my schooling in the next few weeks and will officially be a Paralegal! It has been a long process, but I am glad to finally have it behind me so I can move on to bigger and better things. Well, the sleep monster is calling my name and I must answer his call. Until tomorrow!! |
